Ashley Lopez: After a disastrous presidential election last year, the Florida Legislature and Gov. Rick Scott have restored the state’s early voting days, which were cut short in 2011 as part of a GOP-backed bill overhauling election laws.

Howard Goodman: County election supervisors were asked to send letters to voters suspected of being noncitizens, requiring them to provide proof of citizenship within 30 days or see their names dropped from the voter rolls.
