Jacob Kushner
Jacob Kushner, who has reported on deportations to Haiti for the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting, talked today with Phil Latzman of WLRN Miami Herald News about his stories for FCIR.
Kushner’s radio report “Lost Between Two Nations,” an FCIR-WLRN collaboration, won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association as part of WLRN series on Haiti.
Most recently, Kushner reported for FCIR that recently disclosed data shows that nearly one in two Haitians detained by the U.S. government have not been convicted of crimes in the United States, despite the Obama administration’s policy to prioritize dangerous criminals for post-earthquake deportations to Haiti.
