Howard Goodman has joined the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting as a blogger/reporter. His first item for FCIR appears today.

Goodman is a prize-winning journalist with a 35-year career. A former metro columnist and editor at the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Goodman more recently worked as a newspaper editor in Shanghai and Hong Kong. He’s been an investigative reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer, an editor at Bloomberg News, and a staff writer at newspapers in Kansas City and Salem, Ore. Originally from Chicago, Goodman graduated from Cornell University and the University of California-Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He now lives in Delray Beach.

Goodman will blog regularly as well as work on special projects that will be published online and by FCIR’s media partners in print, broadcast and online. He replaces Ralph De La Cruz, whose last item for FCIR was published Jan. 25.
