Dear FCIR Supporters,
Thanks to your generosity on Give Miami Day, the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting had a strong showing on our most important day for individual fundraising in 2018.
Through Give Miami Day’s website, we raised $7,575, which will receive a partial match from the Miami Foundation. The donations made on Give Miami Day also qualified for $7,575 in matching funds from NewsMatch and $5,800 from the Logan Foundation. In all, we raised $20,950, plus the Miami Foundation match, which is yet to be determined.
Still, we have a long way to go in our annual fundraising campaign, an ambitious effort to raise $25,000 from individual donors by the end of the year. All donations up to $1,000 will be matched dollar for dollar by NewsMatch. You’ll be hearing more from us between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, when we’ll be working hard to take advantage of more than $17,000 in remaining matching funds we can get through News Match 2018 — if we can raise that amount by December 31,
Money raised this year will go to support FCIR’s reporting in 2019.
Many of you reading this have already donated, and for that, I thank you. But for those who haven’t, please consider giving before the end of the year so that your donation can receive a dollar-for-dollar match. Whatever you can give will help us reach our goal.
