The Florida Center for Investigative Reporting has awarded grants to two groups of journalists who will explore contentious issues that impact millions of people in the Sunshine State.
- Adeel Ahmed and Ashwin Gabdbhir will co-direct and Alexandra Clinton will produce a short documentary on voter disenfranchisement in Florida. You will be able to watch it through FCIR and partner news media.
- Lisa Desai and Yasmeen Qureshi will produce a report about Florida’s environment for PBS NewsHour Weekend as well as a print complement to published by FCIR and available to Florida news media.
The funded projects were selected from among more than two dozen applicants as part of a new FCIR program to support journalists and filmmakers working on newsworthy stories about Florida. We again thank our supporters whose donations make these awards possible.
FCIR will begin accepting applications for a new grant cycle later this year.
