The Florida Center for Investigative Reporting partnered with Miami’s CBS4 on an investigation of online high schools. The report, “I-Team: Flunking A High School Equivalency,” examined how some virtual high schools issue diplomas that are not recognized as valid by many institutions of higher learning. The FCIR-CBS4 report advanced FCIR’s Dec. 22, 2010, investigation “Virtually Worthless” by Associate Director Mc Nelly Torres.
