Columbia Journalism Review added the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting to the News Frontier Database, describing FCIR as “a pioneer bilingual investigative nonprofit.

“FCIR is emerging as a leader in investigative news and an innovator in bringing relevant information on government corruption and waste to the state’s Spanish-speaking communities,” CJR wrote.

The News Frontier Database features originally written profiles of digital news organizations nationwide. Inclusion is limited to organizations that are not part of traditional media companies.

Founded in September 2010, FCIR is an independent nonprofit organization located at the International Media Center at Florida International University in North Miami.

FCIR relies on support from foundations and donations from readers. For information about supporting FCIR, contact Associate Directors Trevor Aaronson and Mc Nelly Torres.
