The Florida Center for Investigative Reporting today is launching our 125-Day Challenge — an ambitious effort to raise $125,000 during the final 125 days of the year.
This is our second attempt at the challenge. Last year, FCIR raised $57,764 — more than FCIR had ever raised from individual donors since launching in 2010.
This year, we believe we can raise the full $125,000 by the end of the year.
And we can’t do this without your help. FCIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and individual donations from readers like you pay for our serious, data-driven, multi-platform reporting and help us remain independent.
FCIR has a long track record of award-winning journalism. And this year, we’ve expanded our mission to fund high-impact projects about Florida, such as this recent partnership with PBS NewsHour Weekend; to build upon our groundbreaking reporting on national security; to launch the Islamophobia Project, which monitors and reports on Islamophobia in the United States; and to act as a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor for independent journalists and journalism organizations.
As we enter our seventh year, we need your support to continue this work. Can we count on you?
Over the next 125 days, ending December 31, please help us raise $125,000. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund journalism in Florida’s public interest. Even a small donation — $5, $10, whatever you can afford — would make a big difference during this campaign.
Please donate today via PayPal or by calling 305-520-9621.
In addition to several time-sensitive incentives that will be announced in the coming weeks:
We are also looking for matching donors. If you want to challenge family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone who supports public service journalism by providing a matching grant, please email us.
Thank you for supporting investigative journalism in Florida.
